How to Play Batak Trump Spade Game

The game is played with a standard 52-card deck, with 13 cards dealt to each player. In this game, all cards of the spade suit are considered trump cards. In Swamp Trump Spades, trump can only be called when spades are played.

The objective is to predict the number of hands you will win before the game starts and strive to achieve at least that number. Starting with the player to the right of the Dealer, each player declares their predicted number of hands, which is then recorded on the scoreboard.

Gameplay

During play, if no card has been played yet, the next player can throw any card they wish. If a card is already on the floor, the player must play a card of the same suit if possible. If they cannot follow suit, they can play a trump card; if no trump is available, they may play any card.

Scoring

At the end of each round, players' scores are calculated based on their initial commitments and the actual hands won:

• If a player meets or exceeds their committed number of hands, they earn 10 times the number of committed hands plus the difference between hands received and committed hands.
• If a player falls short of their committed number of hands, they lose 10 times the number of hands they committed.
• A player who declares they will take no hands at the start of the round earns +50 points for successfully taking no hands, but loses -50 points if they end up taking any hands.

The term "settling" is used when a player fails to meet their bid at the end of the game.
