The objective in Hearts is to achieve the lowest score by the end of the game. You must follow suit, playing a card from the suit led (Clubs, for instance). If you don't have a card in the suit led, you can play any card, with the exception that you cannot lead with a Heart or the Queen of Spades on the first trick. The player who lays down the highest card of the led suit wins the trick and gets to lead the next one. Points are accumulated with each Heart card taken in a trick being worth 1 point, and the Queen of Spades valued at 13 points. However, if you manage to take all the Hearts and the Queen of Spades in a single round—a feat known as Shooting the Moon—you score 0 points while all other players are penalized with 26 points each! The game concludes once any player reaches or exceeds 100 points.
