Bandai Namco has teased yet another remaster from the Tales series, and all signs point to Tales of Xillia being the title in question.

The tease comes from a scheduled livestream on the official Tales YouTube Channel, set to premiere tomorrow at 7 a.m. PT / 10 a.m. ET. Currently, the preview is a static image with the text: "The Next Tales Of Remastered is...?"

However, as noted across social media, a version of this video was briefly and accidentally published on the Bandai Namco Europe page a few days prior. That upload clearly identified the remaster as Tales of Xillia. So, it appears tomorrow's early morning livestream will confirm this news, landing surprisingly hours ahead of Gamescom's Opening Night Live later in the day.

Tales of Xillia originally launched in 2011 in Japan and 2013 in Western markets. The story follows two protagonists, Jude and Milla, as they discover a dangerous, world-ending weapon and embark on a quest to prevent its activation. Our original review scored it an 8/10, making it a strong candidate for a remaster—especially since it has remained a PS3 exclusive and is now difficult to access. The game also spawned a sequel, Tales of Xillia 2, which was similarly confined to the PS3.

That said, some fans will likely be disappointed this isn't the specific Tales remaster they were hoping for. Last year, Bandai Namco launched its Tales of Remastered Program, beginning with Tales of Graces f (a Tales of Symphonia remaster had been released the year before). At the time, we asked producer Yuki Ishikawa about the highly acclaimed Tales of the Abyss, often considered one of the series' best entries, and the potential for its own remaster.

“If a Tales of the Abyss remaster could become a reality, and I could share that excitement with all the fans, it’s something I would strive to make happen,” Ishikawa said. As for me, I'll continue to be the sole champion for a Zestiria remaster, but I'm patient enough to wait my turn.
