In this new setting, Shinnosuke, affectionately known as Shin Chan, explores the pleasures of rural life alongside his grandfather Ginnosuke. Players will find themselves fishing in Akita's rivers, catching bugs in the groves, and learning farming techniques from their grandmother, immersing themselves in the rhythms of country living.

The plot thickens when Shiro, the family's loyal dog, returns home covered in soot and dashes off mysteriously. Shin Chan, ever curious, follows Shiro and stumbles upon a mysterious train that leads them to the enigmatic Coal Town.

Coal Town: A Step Back in Time

Upon entering Coal Town, players are transported to a setting reminiscent of the Showa era, complete with bustling workers and a retro atmosphere. The town offers a stark contrast to the Nohara's peaceful countryside, featuring a children's park, diner, shops, restaurants, and an apartment block, some of which are interactive and others serve as charming backdrops.

It's here that Shin Chan meets Yuri, a young and inventive girl, who enlists his help in gathering materials for her experiments aimed at improving the town's quality of life. However, her older brother Chuck introduces a 'waste-free' system that ends up causing more harm than good. Players must assist Yuri in thwarting Chuck's plans and restoring harmony to Coal Town.
