The Nintendo Direct presentation on April 2 confirmed Deltarune's release for Switch 2, featuring chapters 3 and 4 along with next-gen exclusive content.
Toby Fox revealed in a Fangamer newsletter that the Switch 2 version will introduce a unique room utilizing the Joy-Con's mouse functionality. "We created a SPECIAL ROOM specifically designed for simultaneous mouse controls using two Joy-Con controllers – a feature exclusive to Switch 2," Fox explained.
While players on other platforms can access this room, the experience will differ significantly without Switch 2's specialized controls. Save files from the Switch demo versions of Deltarune Chapters 1-2 will be transferable to the full release.

The newsletter confirmed Deltarune's retail price of $24.99, including Chapters 1-4. While Chapters 1-2 were originally free releases in 2018 and 2021 respectively, Fox announced future content will be differently monetized.
"All upcoming chapters will be free updates," Fox stated. "My goal is for players to ultimately feel they've received tremendous value from their purchase." This means buyers will receive all future content without additional charges.

The game's complete soundtrack will be separately available on Steam for $14.99, covering over 150 tracks from Chapters 1-4. Like the game content, music from future chapters will be added at no extra cost.
Deltarune Chapters 1-4 launches June 5, 2025 alongside Switch 2's debut, available across PlayStation 4/5, Nintendo Switch/Switch 2, and PC platforms.
