It’s been 35 years since Intelligent Systems first introduced the world to the Fire Emblem series on Nintendo's Famicom. With its constantly evolving combat systems and the introduction of cherished character bonding mechanics, the series has firmly established itself as a top-tier tactical RPG. This legacy continues with two stellar mainline entries on the Nintendo Switch.
As the original Switch era comes to a close, we've put together a comprehensive list of every Fire Emblem game you can play on the console, along with a sneak peek at what's on the horizon for the Switch 2.
How Many Fire Emblem Games Are on Switch? -----------------------------------------There are five Fire Emblem games available on the Switch: two mainline titles and three spinoffs. The first Fire Emblem title to grace the Switch was the crossover sensation Fire Emblem Warriors. This mashup masterfully blends Fire Emblem's strategic team-based gameplay with the button-mashing, hack-and-slash action of Dynasty Warriors. It's a must-play for action enthusiasts, though its lighter narrative might not captivate those deeply invested in Fire Emblem's lore.
Developed by the team behind Dynasty Warriors, Omega Force, in collaboration with the action experts at Team Ninja (known for Ninja Gaiden and Nioh), this game delivers a thrilling experience.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses marked a significant milestone for the series. It was the first Fire Emblem game on a home console in 12 years, the inaugural mainline entry on the Switch, and a resounding success both critically and commercially, building on the momentum established by Awakening.
Three Houses stands out as a colossal tactical RPG, masterfully balancing epic battles with intimate moments. The grand narrative weaves through a continental war steeped in politics and religion, while quieter times at the monastery allow for training, teaching, exploring, and bonding with other characters through well-crafted and performed dialogues.
For newcomers to the series, Three Houses is the perfect starting point on the Switch, showcasing Fire Emblem at its finest.

In 2020, Nintendo brought us Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore, an enhanced version of the original Wii U game. This port includes new story elements, characters, and music, blending Fire Emblem’s iconic “weapon triangle” combat system with the vibrant style, dungeon-crawling, and dynamic combat of Atlus’s Shin Megami Tensei and Persona series.
The narrative takes a humorous, exaggerated dive into Japanese pop culture, prioritizing action over storytelling, much like its predecessor, Warriors.

Nintendo teamed up once again with Omega Force for Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, a sequel to the original Fire Emblem Warriors. This game offers an alternate timeline of Three Houses where the protagonist Byleth turns antagonist.
Three Hopes seamlessly integrates more of Fire Emblem’s social and tactical elements with the frenetic action of Dynasty Warriors, resulting in a richer crossover experience than its forerunner.

Fire Emblem Engage represents the latest chapter in the series and the second mainline entry on the Switch. It builds on the success of Three Houses, paying homage to the franchise's roots by refining and scaling down the social and hub mechanics while refocusing on the series' core tactical combat, notably bringing back the “weapon triangle” system.
The story follows Alear, a Divine Dragon on a mission to gather 12 rings to defeat the Fell Dragon and save Elyos. Engage's narrative is interwoven with the series' history through these rings, which contain the spirits of past Fire Emblem heroes like Marth, Ike, Celica, and Byleth, allowing players to summon them into battle.
