IGN recently revealed that Hollow Knight: Silksong will become playable at an Australian museum exhibition launching September 2025, sharing official sprite sheets from the long-awaited sequel. Naturally... the internet had thoughts.

"Under what circumstances would [they] create a sprite of Hornet without her cloak?" questioned one Reddit user in a discussion thread analyzing the exclusive assets.

Among dozens of sprites depicting Silksong's protagonist Hornet in various combat and idle animations, one particular frame shows her casually carrying her signature cloak folded under one arm. "What possible in-game scenario requires Hornet to remove her cloak like some overworked office commuter? This feels wrong," commented one fan.

"Can this actually be real? There's no way this made it into Silksong's final assets. Is that seriously her design underneath?" speculated another, while others exclaimed: "WHY WOULD THE DEVELOPERS EVEN CREATE THIS SPRITE?"

The conversation then took... an enthusiastic turn.

"Guess we won't need modders for this particular alt skin," observed one commenter, with another joking: "Instant ESRB Mature rating secured."

"HORNET PLEASE REATTACH YOUR CLOAK IMMEDIATELY THIS IS SCANDALOUS," pleaded a thread creator, prompting responses like "This looks unnatural" and "completely unwarranted."

The most plausible explanation suggests potential cloak customization mechanics... but until official clarification arrives, Hornet enthusiasts should feel free to speculate wildly.
