Metro Quester – Hack & Slash has officially launched on Android, offering a unique take on the traditional KEMCO RPG formula. This turn-based JRPG dives into the gritty, old-school realm of dungeon crawling, promising a fresh experience for fans of the genre.
In Metro Quester – Hack & Slash, you play as a scavenger, navigating underground ruins alongside your crew to gather resources before your weekly food quota of 100 runs out. You have seven in-game days to collect this essential sustenance. Your journey takes you through monster-filled areas like Otemachi and Ginza, scavenging for leftovers that could mean the difference between survival and starvation. But remember, you can only level up once you return to a safe camp, provided you've survived and gathered enough resources.
With 24 unique characters to choose from, each belonging to one of eight distinct classes, you have the freedom to tailor your team's skills, weapons, and strategies. Combat is managed through action points, with each character limited to five points per turn and only one use per ability, making strategic planning crucial for success.
As you explore the dungeon, the map unfolds before you, revealing hidden food supplies, monster nests, keys to new areas, and potential campgrounds where you can establish a new base.
The visual style of Metro Quester – Hack & Slash is intentionally minimalistic, featuring a bleak, colorless environment that starkly contrasts with the vibrant characters you control. To see this in action, check out the official trailer below.
For those who crave more after the main storyline, a NEW GAME+ mode awaits, offering tougher challenges and enhanced replayability.
Metro Quester – Hack & Slash is available for purchase on the Google Play Store for $14.99. Note that the game does not support controllers and is available in English and Japanese only.
