Pokémon TCG Prices Drop as MTG Final Fantasy Preorders Surge

Pokémon TCG sealed products are now more affordable on the collector market than at major retailers like Amazon, a rare shift in the trading card game landscape. Retail giants such as Target and Amazon are setting high prices for in-demand Pokémon TCG items.

Here’s how to save significantly. Plus, with the single card market crashing, now’s the perfect time to snag coveted chase cards at steep discounts.

151 Poster Collection

0$40.97 at Amazon

Take the 151 Poster Collection on Amazon as an example. This $15 set includes three booster packs and three promo cards, nothing extraordinary.

Its market value is around $33.24 at TCG Player, making it surprising that retailers like Amazon charge more than collectors are willing to pay. Still, it’s available for over $40, sold and shipped by Amazon.

Unless you’re set on getting the promo cards and poster in the bundle, buying booster packs from TCG Player is often a better deal, or even just the poster collection itself.

If you’re more interested in chase cards than opening packs, here are some standout picks.

For Magic or Final Fantasy fans, missing this set would be a mistake—it’s poised to be massive. These are the top cards before the June 5 launch.

Buying before release is risky, as prices may drop significantly. Still, it’s wise to monitor what’s trending.
