Norman Reedus Confirms Interest in Playing Himself in 'Death Stranding 2' Movie

Attention all Death Stranding enthusiasts! Brace yourselves for an exciting update: the sequel, Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, is slated to launch in June, and the franchise's lead, Norman Reedus, recently dropped some intriguing hints during an IGN interview. While promoting From the World of John Wick: Ballerina, Reedus not only teased the upcoming game but also shared insights on the planned film adaptation, which is being developed by Michael Sarnoski and A24.

When asked about his potential role in the film, Reedus enthusiastically responded, "If it was an option, yeah, for sure. I don’t know what’s happening with it. It’s so pre pre pre right now. But yeah, of course." This suggests his keen interest in reprising his role on the big screen, despite the project being in its very early stages.

Reedus also touched on his experience with the first game and his anticipation for the sequel. Despite admitting to being initially confused by the game's narrative, he expressed a deep trust in the creative vision of Hideo Kojima. "As far as working with him and understanding where his head’s at, I don’t think anybody can understand where his head’s at," Reedus remarked, emphasizing Kojima's unique and innovative approach. He added, "He’s just that guy, he’s out there and he’s got great ideas. But story-wise, I did know what was happening more. There’s more action in it, there’s more of a definite goal to get to."

Regardless of the complexities within the Death Stranding universe, Reedus remains enthusiastic about his involvement. "It’s always a trip working on those things," he shared with IGN. "It’s great, but it’s wild."
