The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered revitalizes one of Bethesda's most cherished titles, enhancing visuals, gameplay mechanics, and more, while still preserving the charm of the original, including its iconic voice acting quirks.

Veteran fans of The Elder Scrolls series will fondly remember Master Speechcraft trainer Tandilwe, the High Elf found in the Temple of the One within the Imperial City. When Oblivion first hit the shelves for PC and Xbox 360 over 19 years ago, Tandilwe's dialogue became a topic of conversation due to a notable voice acting blooper. Actress Linda Kenyon's attempt at a line, which was mistakenly included in the game, has since become legendary among fans.

As players embarked on their journey through the refreshed world of Cyrodiil yesterday, many were eager to see how closely the remaster adhered to the original. While numerous environments, character models, and items have been beautifully revamped, fans have been delighted to discover that many of the original game's endearing quirks, including Tandilwe's memorable blooper, have been preserved. The line remains as it was nearly two decades ago, complete with its lack of subtitles, much to the joy of returning players.

In a 2019 interview with YouTube's Jake 'The Voice' Parr, Linda Kenyon acknowledged the infamous Oblivion blooper that made it into the game and became an internet sensation, humorously stating, "It wasn't my fault!"

While the debate rages on among the thousands of players diving into Oblivion Remastered about whether it's more of a remake than a remaster, many are simply pleased to see so much of the original game's unique charm preserved. Both Bethesda and Virtuos have made a conscious effort to maintain these beloved aspects, and the reception from both new and returning players has been overwhelmingly positive.
