Pedro Pascal, renowned for his roles in "The Last of Us," "The Mandalorian," and "The Fantastic Four: First Steps," has publicly criticized JK Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter series, over her recent statements and actions against the transgender community. This response came after Rowling celebrated a UK Supreme Court ruling that defined "woman" strictly as "a biological woman and biological sex" for the purposes of equality legislation, effectively excluding transgender women from protections under the Equality Act.

Rowling's celebration of the ruling was marked by a social media post where she shared an image of herself smoking a cigar and enjoying a drink by the ocean, captioned with, "I love it when a plan comes together." This was a nod to her financial support of For Scotland Women, the organization behind the lawsuit.

The controversy escalated when writer and activist Tariq Raouf posted a video on April 17, condemning Rowling's stance and urging a boycott of anything related to Harry Potter. Raouf described Rowling's actions as "serious Voldemort villain sht." In response to Raouf's video, Pascal tweeted, "Awful disgusting SHT is exactly right. Heinous LOSER behavior," clearly aligning himself against Rowling's views.

Pascal's support for the transgender community is well-documented. He has previously stated, "I can’t think of anything more vile and small and pathetic than terrorizing the smallest, most vulnerable community of people who want nothing from you, except the right to exist," accompanying his words with a photo of a sign that read, "A world without trans people has never existed and never will." Furthermore, at the premiere of "Thunderbolts" in London, Pascal wore a shirt that said "Protect the dolls," a term used within the LGBTQIA+ community to refer to trans women.

His personal connection to the issue is also significant; his sister, Lux Pascal, is a transgender woman who publicly came out in 2021. Pedro Pascal expressed his support for her on social media, posting, "Mi hermana, mi corazón, nuestra Lux," which translates to "My sister, my heart, our Lux."

Pascal's outspoken stance against JK Rowling and his continuous support for the transgender community highlight his commitment to advocating for equality and human rights.
