Pokémon Company Unveils New Android Battle Sim: Pokémon Champions

Yesterday, February 27th, marked Pokémon Day, and The Pokémon Company celebrated with a special Pokémon Presents stream packed with exciting announcements. Among the highlights was a glimpse at the upcoming Pokémon Legends: Z-A video game, along with teasers for new episodes of Pokémon Concierge and the eagerly anticipated battle sim, Pokémon Champions.

The buzz around Pokémon Champions, the new battle sim, is palpable. Developed by The Pokémon Works in collaboration with Game Freak, this game is exclusively focused on competitive battling. Forget about catching Pokémon, wandering through tall grass, or collecting Gym Badges—this game is all about intense, head-to-head battles.

What Else Do We Know About Pokémon Champions, the Upcoming Battle Sim?

Pokémon Champions promises a thrilling multiplayer experience with cross-platform play, available on both the Nintendo Switch and mobile devices. While specific details about the multiple game modes are still under wraps, the anticipation is high.

One of the most exciting features of Pokémon Champions is its integration with Pokémon Home. This means you can transfer some of your favorite Pokémon from previous games into the battle sim. However, not all Pokémon will be immediately available, and only a select group will be usable at launch.

With Pokémon Champions, The Pokémon Company is clearly aiming to provide a dedicated space for competitive players, focusing on high-stakes battles without the distractions typical of the main series. As we await more details, you can check out the announcement trailer below to get a taste of what's to come.
