Pokémon Go Fest 2025 Details Revealed for 9th Anniversary

• Pokémon Go is gearing up to celebrate its ninth anniversary since launch and has revealed fresh details about Go Fest 2025.
• Catch special anniversary-themed versions of your favorite Pokémon and take advantage of exclusive event bonuses.
• Encounter Go Fest's specially themed Pokémon lineup on different days, alongside exciting new items available in the shop.

It speaks volumes about Niantic that I've often heard people say the release of Pokémon Go was "the closest we've ever come to world peace," or something along those lines. Even after nine years since its launch, many of us, young and old, still fondly remember when the game achieved the unbelievable—bringing Pokémon into the real world, in a way.

Now, as Pokémon Go approaches its ninth anniversary, the game is celebrating nearly a decade since its debut with a spectacular new event. Starting July 1st through July 6th, players can encounter new costumed Pokémon, including Ivysaur and Venusaur sporting stylish party hats, while Gimmighoul will appear holding a special 9th Anniversary coin.

There's also a whole array of bonuses to encourage players to get outside and join the ninth-anniversary festivities. Enjoy an increased chance of becoming Lucky Friends, encountering Lucky Pokémon, and seeing PokéStops turn gold without needing a Golden Lure Module—plus even more rewards.

Going Global

But the ninth anniversary isn't the only thing to look forward to! As mentioned, new details for the upcoming Go Fest 2025 have been shared. The event will run from August 28th to 29th, and you can join for free or upgrade with a special event ticket.

Whether you purchase a ticket or not, there's plenty to enjoy. Different event-themed Pokémon will appear on Saturday and Sunday, along with a variety of event bonuses. In this steampunk-themed celebration, special avatar items will be available through the Go Pass and the in-game event shop.
