The RTX 5090: Peak Performance?

Revealed at CES 2025, Nvidia's 50-series GPUs prioritize enhanced AI features over raw rasterization performance. DLSS 4 promises significant frame rate increases with minimal visual impact. While offering a modest performance boost over the 40-series, the generational leap is debated among PC gamers.

In IGN's RTX 5090 FE review, Jackie Thomas noted that the card surpasses the RTX 4090 in performance, but the improvement is less dramatic than previous generations. Traditional gaming performance gains are minimal, yet DLSS 4 delivers substantial boosts in compatible titles—though acknowledging that AI generates a significant portion of the frames.
