How to Start "Thrown to the Dogs" in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

One of the first perks you’ll unlock as a pre-order owner is a special side quest titled "Thrown to the Dogs". This becomes available once you take control of Naoe and gain access to the open world for the first time.

To begin, simply follow the quest marker on your map. It will lead you to a dog waiting patiently near a farm area. After locating the animal, your next task is to find a hidden key beneath a nearby house. Once retrieved, return to the grave site where the dog was originally found.

Upon completion, you'll officially befriend the dog, and the quest will conclude.

Tip: If you're struggling to locate the key, look for a small crawlspace under the house. Naoe can go prone and crawl inside to grab it. It's not immediately obvious, so keep an eye out!

Successfully completing "Thrown to the Dogs" grants you your pre-order rewards:

• Tsuki-maru pet at the Hideout
• 1,000 XP

Now, if you were expecting something game-changing, you might feel slightly underwhelmed. Tsuki-maru doesn't have any functional purpose beyond being a charming companion around your base. That said, the 1,000 XP bonus offers a solid boost early on—enough to earn a few Mastery Points right when they start to matter.
