Notable Summer Game Fest Developments

Silksong Absence Continues

Despite recent speculation, Hollow Knight: Silksong appears unlikely to feature at Summer Game Fest 2025. Though briefly mentioned in Nintendo's April 2025 Direct and with subtle website changes, developer Team Cherry maintains complete silence about their anticipated sequel.

The ongoing absence has become an industry joke among fans who've endured repeated disappointment at previous showcases. Pattern suggests Silksong may skip yet another major gaming event.

The Outer Worlds 2 Returns

First teased in 2021's humorous E3 trailer referencing The Elder Scrolls VI, Obsidian Entertainment's sci-fi RPG sequel finally emerges from development shadows. Following Day 3's Xbox Games Showcase, The Outer Worlds 2 will receive dedicated presentation time.

While specifics remain secret, expectations include gameplay demonstrations, narrative insights, and potentially fresh trailer footage expanding upon 2024's Game Awards teaser.

Confirmed Participants

Major publishers including Ubisoft, Devolver Digital, Astra Logical and Failbetter Games have officially announced Summer Game Fest involvement, promising new reveals across subsequent showcases.

Confirmed titles receiving updates include Kingmakers, Of Ash and Steel, SpeedRunners 2, and surprising Hello Neighbor 3 appearance.

Day 2's PC Gaming Show features Supermassive's Directive 8020 trailer, Hangar 13 discussing Mafia: The Old Country, and Blumhouse Games revealing Crisol: Theater of Idols.
