How Many LEGO Car Sets Are There?

As of April 2025, the official LEGO Store lists 100 car-themed sets. While there are numerous kid-friendly options, the more advanced sets that engage and challenge builders are generally more expensive. LEGO could benefit from offering more mid-priced models in the $50-150 range, providing a better experience for children and intermediate builders. The retired Aston Martin set is a prime example of what's missing from the current lineup, as LEGO's essence is about accessibility and cross-generational appeal.

What's the Most Expensive LEGO Car Set?

The most expensive LEGO car sets currently on the market are priced at $449.99, and three sets reach this peak: the Ferrari Daytona SP3, the McLaren P1, and the Lamborghini Sián FKP 37. All are LEGO Technic sets, featuring complex components like working gearboxes and moving pistons. The high cost is also driven by the attention to detail and exclusive branding, as LEGO collaborates directly with Ferrari, McLaren, and Lamborghini to ensure the models accurately reflect the real vehicles. These sets showcase the pinnacle of LEGO's design, technical complexity, and luxury partnerships.
