PlayStation and Sucker Punch Productions have officially announced that Ghost of Yōtei will launch on October 2, 2025. The announcement came with the release of a new trailer titled "The Onryō’s List", which offers fans a glimpse into the game's compelling narrative and engaging gameplay. Set 300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima, Ghost of Yōtei follows the journey of Atsu in Ezo (modern-day Hokkaido), as she seeks vengeance against the Yōtei Six—a notorious group of outlaws responsible for her family's murder. Her quest involves tracking down and confronting each member: The Snake, The Oni, The Kitsune, The Spider, The Dragon, and Lord Saito.

The game builds on the success of its predecessor with new weapons, mechanics, and features, promising an evolved gaming experience.

Hunt Down The Yōtei Six Your Way

Ghost of Yōtei offers players the freedom to hunt down the Yōtei Six in any order they choose, crafting a personalized path of revenge. According to a detailed post on PlayStation.blog dated April 23, the game introduces an enhanced open-world exploration system that provides more freedom and variety than Ghost of Tsushima. Alongside the main quest, players can engage in a variety of activities such as tracking dangerous targets for bounties and learning new skills from weapon sensei.

The game also reintroduces beloved features like the "Guiding Wind" and introduces a new mechanic allowing players to build campfires anywhere in the expansive world of Ezo. The focus is on player choice and freedom, with more details to be shared in the coming months.
