Transform your device into a versatile portable display for your Camera, Gaming Console, Laptop, PC, or any device with HDMI output by using an HDMI to USB C dongle (also known as a UVC capture device or Video Capture Card, not a USB C hub or USB C to HDMI cable). Additionally, Cameras, Endoscopes, and Microscopes with USB streaming capabilities are fully supported.
Noir excels in supporting UVC video streaming and UAC audio streaming, with the flexibility of choosing between OpenGL ES and Vulkan for the graphics backend. The free version of Noir provides essential functions and an immersive experience (with ads, but not during the preview). Upgrade to the pro version to unlock advanced features and contribute to the ongoing development and maintenance of Noir.

2. Primary Monitor for Gaming Console & PC: Elevate your gaming setup with Pro features such as Visual Effects, Brightness & Contrast Adjustment, App-specific Volume Control, and FSR 1.0.
3. Secondary Monitor for Laptop: Extend your workspace effortlessly.

1. Why doesn't Noir recognize my device?
Possible reasons include your phone or tablet not supporting USB Host (OTG) or the device not being a Video Capture Card. In some cases, additional power from a USB hub might be necessary if your device cannot supply enough power to the capture card.
2. Why is the preview so laggy?
Lag often stems from the USB version. For USB 3.0 capture cards, ensure both the USB data cable and the USB port on your device are USB 3.0. For USB 2.0 capture cards, use MJPEG format and keep it within 1080p30fps, though some can handle up to 1080p50fps.
3. Why did my capture card, which was working fine, suddenly fail to connect?
This issue is typically due to system glitches. A simple restart of your phone or tablet can often resolve the problem.
4. Why does my gaming console or Video playback device show a black screen when connected?
This is common among PS5 and PS4 users because of HDCP being enabled. Disable HDCP through your PS console settings: Settings -> System -> HDMI. Note that PS3 does not support disabling HDCP. Other devices might also auto-enable HDCP during video playback. Some HDMI splitters can bypass HDCP, but this isn't recommended here; further investigation is advised.
5. Why are resolutions other than 16:9 and 4:3 not supported?
Current capture cards typically do not support other aspect ratios. Use Noir's Stretch feature to adjust the ratio, provided your capture card's EDID supports it and you set your laptop or computer's output resolution accordingly.
