Periscope is Twitter's official application for live streaming, requiring only your Twitter account and an Android device. The app functions very similarly to Meerkat, which pioneered the ability to record and broadcast live video directly on Twitter.

In addition to streaming yourself, Periscope provides instant access to live broadcasts from others. You can discover trending streams, jump right into them, and interact by posting comments or sending hearts to express your appreciation.

Starting a broadcast on Periscope is as simple as tapping a button. Once you press record, your live stream begins, and you can easily toggle between your front and rear cameras with a single screen touch. The app also alerts you with a small flash if a viewer takes a screenshot of your broadcast.

Within the app settings, you can customize your notification preferences—for example, to be alerted when people you follow go live or when you gain a new follower.

Periscope is a robust yet lightweight official Twitter app for live streaming. It enables you to broadcast online seamlessly using just your Twitter account, all within a sleek, intuitive, and visually appealing interface.
