What is Stenciletto?

Stenciletto is an engaging series of cognitive exercises designed to enhance visual and spatial perception skills using simple geometric shapes. Suitable for everyone, the game requires only the ability to recognize basic geometric figures and understand the concept of a stencil. Players must tap geometric stencils in the correct sequence to replicate the displayed pattern, a task that, while seemingly straightforward, demands a blend of critical thinking, logical reasoning, planning, and problem-solving skills. Developed over a decade by an experienced educator with input from diverse groups including children, teenagers, adults, and individuals with learning disabilities and brain injuries, Stenciletto has proven to be both rewarding and motivating across all ages.

In the latest update, we've introduced Education Mode, making Stenciletto an ideal tool for classroom settings. A one-time purchase unlocks all relevant content, and the mode includes controls for content access, internet usage, Game Center, and sharing capabilities. It's also compatible with Family Sharing, perfect for home educators.

History of the Game

Originally dubbed the Stencil Design IQ Test, Stenciletto was conceived by Grace Arthur, Ph.D., a pioneering 20th-century psychologist who emphasized the importance of non-verbal skills in intelligence assessment. Dr. Arthur designed the game to measure the IQ of Native American and deaf children who struggled with traditional verbal IQ tests due to their lack of formal schooling. Her findings revealed that these children possessed IQ levels comparable to those of educated Americans when assessed through this non-verbal method.

What's in the Game?

Stenciletto offers two types of gameplay: Classic Games, which utilize Grace Arthur's original geometric stencils such as squares, circles, triangles, and crosses, and World Games, which provide more challenging exercises for those with advanced perceptual and logical skills. The game features over 600 puzzles, with 60 free puzzles available across different levels.

Each paid game includes 15 puzzles, and completing a Classic Game rewards players with an animated Smiley, representing characters from history and mythology to celebrate cultural diversity. These Smileys serve as a fun and engaging way to track progress and achievements.

Multiple play modes cater to different preferences:

• Mortal Mode: The default setting where players can purchase lives or wait for them to regenerate. It's timed, scored, and features Mortal leaderboards.
• Immortal Mode: Offers unlimited free lives, allowing players to top up their life bank as needed. It's also timed and scored, with Immortal leaderboards.
• Mindful Mode: Untimed and unscored, allowing players to enjoy puzzles at their own pace.
• Education Mode: Unlocks both Immortal and Mindful Modes, with the option to disable Mortal Mode.
