This app provides a fun and engaging demonstration of the Stroop Effect, a fascinating neurological phenomenon. It challenges the brain by creating a conflict between the visual processing of color and the cognitive processing of word meaning. The Stroop test exploits the speed difference between these two pathways: visual signals reach the brain faster than rational thought processes. Under time pressure, this discrepancy can lead to impulsive incorrect responses, requiring conscious effort and focus to overcome.
Gameplay involves selecting one of two modes: "Get Meaning, Put Color" (the standard Stroop Effect) or "Get Color, Put Meaning." Players must quickly select the correct colored button based on either the word displayed or the button's actual color. The goal is to maximize correct answers and progressively reduce response times.
