How To Get Distilled Emotions in Path of Exile 2

Amulet and Waystone anointing becomes available later in the game, as it requires Distilled Emotions obtained through Delirium Maps. Veterans will recognize these as the successor to Blight Oils from the original game. There are ten different Distilled Emotions: Despair, Disgust, Envy, Fear, Greed, Guilt, Ire, Isolation, Paranoia, and Suffering.

Delirium Maps serve as the primary source for Distilled Emotions, rewarding players with random assortments upon completion. Alternative acquisition methods include currency exchange and the trade market.

The Reforging Bench allows you to upgrade Distilled Emotions - combining three of the same type yields an upgraded version, giving you more control over your desired enhancements.

For those seeking greater challenges, Simulacrum waves may drop Distilled Emotions, though this method proves less efficient than Delirium Maps and demands stronger character builds.

How To Anoint Items in Path of Exile 2

Currently during Early Access, anointing applies exclusively to Waystones and amulets, though future updates may expand these options. To anoint an amulet, select any Distilled Emotion to open the Instilling window. Place your amulet in the center slot and three Distilled Emotions in the bottom slots. Each Notable Passive Skill in the Passive Skill Tree displays its required emotions when highlighted (press Alt on keyboard or R3 on controller).

Your ideal anointed skills will vary by build, and fortunately these enhancements aren't permanent. Simply repeat the anointing process to overwrite previous selections, allowing for build flexibility as your character evolves.

Waystone anointing follows the same process but introduces greater challenges in exchange for improved loot rewards. Note that corrupted items cannot be anointed in either case.
