Bandai Namco to End PAC-MAN Mobile Service

Bandai Namco has made the surprising announcement of the impending shutdown of PAC-MAN Mobile, especially poignant as the iconic character marks its 45th anniversary this year. Launched over a decade ago, this mobile version of the classic game has been a staple for fans worldwide.

When Is the PAC-MAN Mobile Shutdown?

The official shutdown date for PAC-MAN Mobile is set for May 30th, 2025. In-app purchases have been discontinued as of April 1st, but players can continue enjoying the game until the final date. Many in the community have voiced their disappointment, suggesting that an offline version could have been a viable alternative, potentially generating revenue for Bandai Namco while keeping the game alive.

PAC-MAN Mobile, formerly known as PAC-MAN + Tournaments, offers more than just the classic arcade experience. In addition to the beloved 8-bit arcade mode, it features a Story Mode with a variety of original mazes. Players can also dive into an Adventure Mode with limited-time themed events to unlock exclusive skins. The Tournament Mode adds weekly maze challenges with three difficulty levels, and the game boasts an array of skins for PAC-MAN, the ghosts, and even the joystick.

The Reason

The decision to shut down the game comes after years of accumulating bugs and issues, which likely contributed significantly to this outcome. The initial excitement surrounding its launch on Android, with players striving for high scores and leaderboard dominance, feels like a distant memory now.

For those eager to experience PAC-MAN Mobile one last time before its closure, the game is available on the Google Play Store. Don't miss out on this final opportunity to enjoy a piece of gaming history.
