According to a recent PlayStation.blog post dated April 29, the State of Play will showcase over 20 minutes of "developer-guided gameplay," featuring missions, an array of killer weapons, thrilling Action Skills, and both new and returning characters.

Launch Date Moved to September 12

In a surprising turn of events following the State of Play announcement, Gearbox Entertainment CEO Randy Pitchford took to Twitter (X) on April 29 to reveal that Borderlands 4's launch date has been moved up to September 12. Although he quickly deleted the initial video and followed up with a post stating it was posted prematurely, the news is official.

In the video, Pitchford explained that the development process has been exceptionally smooth, describing it as "everything’s going kinda the best scenario."
