Xbox Series X, S Prices Set to Rise

Microsoft Announces Xbox Price Increases for Consoles, Controllers

Microsoft has revealed price adjustments across its Xbox product line, affecting consoles, controllers, and upcoming first-party game releases. The hardware changes take effect immediately, while new $79.99 game pricing will debut this holiday season. If you've been considering new Xbox equipment, now's the time to buy before the increases hit.

Xbox Series X - 1TB

$499 (Rising to $599 Soon)

As Microsoft's flagship console, the Xbox Series X delivers impressive 4K gaming performance. Its robust capabilities have made it a fan favorite, often rivaling PlayStation 5 in performance. The standard model comes with full physical disc support - perfect for collectors.

Xbox Series S Options

The budget-friendly Series S offers an all-digital experience at lower resolutions (1440p instead of 4K). Available in both 512GB and 1TB configurations, the larger storage option might be worth considering given today's massive game file sizes.

Controller Price Adjustments

Microsoft is implementing tiered pricing for its controller lineup. While some models remain unchanged, premium controllers like the Elite Series 2 will see significant increases. The pricing structure now reflects different controller editions more clearly.

Where to Buy Before Price Hikes

Many major retailers still offer current pricing on Xbox hardware, including Amazon, GameStop, Target and Walmart. These deals won't last forever though - the new MSRP is already appearing on Microsoft's official store.

For gamers who prefer physical copies, the standard Series X remains the best choice. Digital-focused players might prefer either the Series S or Series X Digital Edition, depending on their performance needs and budget.
