Black Ops 7 Skipping Switch 2 at Launch, Price & Date Leaked

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 appears poised to skip a Nintendo Switch 2 launch, despite Microsoft’s binding 10-year agreement to bring the franchise to Nintendo platforms.

Back in 2023, as part of its efforts to gain regulatory approval for the Activision Blizzard acquisition, Microsoft committed to releasing new Call of Duty titles on Nintendo consoles with full feature and content parity, simultaneously with Xbox.

The agreement ensures Nintendo players can enjoy the same Call of Duty experience as those on Xbox and PlayStation, Microsoft stated. The series has been absent from Nintendo systems since Call of Duty: Ghosts for Wii U in 2013.

However, according to credible leaker billbil-kun (via Dealabs), Black Ops 7 is targeting a November 14, 2025 release on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. While a Switch 2 version may arrive later, it reportedly won’t launch alongside Nintendo’s new console.

Following the official announcement of Black Ops 7 in June, Activision and Nintendo were said to be collaborating on bringing the FPS franchise to Switch. Activision confirmed to IGN that both teams are still working on it, promising to share updates when ready.

Separately, billbil-kun noted that Xbox versions will receive a physical disc release, a departure from recent Microsoft first-party titles.

Pricing is reportedly set at €79.99, suggesting a $69.99 U.S. price point. Microsoft had previously indicated it would not raise game prices to $80 for its holiday lineup, aligning with expectations for Black Ops 7.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will be fully unveiled on August 19 during gamescom’s Opening Night Live, where more details are expected.
