Clash Royale Unveils Spirit Empress & New Milestones

Supercell has released a major update for Clash Royale, introducing the Spirit Empress and a completely fresh way to play. While the game is famous for its high-speed arena duels, this revamp aims to re-engage players who may have taken a break.

What’s the New Mode?

It's called Merge Tactics. This mode keeps core gameplay the same but adds a merging mechanic, allowing players to fuse summoned units into stronger forms. Those familiar with Rush Royale will quickly recognize the concept.

The Spirit Empress is a highly adaptable powerhouse. She offers two deployment options: you can play her as a 3 Elixir ground troop on foot, or summon her riding a spirit dragon for 6 Elixir.

Alongside her, the Skeleton Barrel has received an Evolution. The Evolved Skeleton Barrel now drops barrels that deal death damage and spawn skeletons upon breaking. If these barrels take damage while flying, they fall prematurely—creating surprise skeleton waves that can overwhelm an opponent.

Here’s a look at this month’s events!

From now until July 14th, the Skeleton Barrel Evolution Draft lets you try Card Evolutions in a classic draft environment.

From July 14th to 21st, the Spirit Empress takes the spotlight. A separate event running from July 18th to 21st allows you to fully test her flexibility.

Sudden Death returns from July 21st to 28th—where the first player to destroy a Crown Tower wins instantly. Finally, the Goblin Party Rocket event takes place from July 28th to August 4th, introducing a unique rocket card.
