Feral Interactive has released a major update for Company of Heroes, introducing online cross-platform multiplayer functionality. Players can now engage in battles seamlessly across Android, Nintendo Switch, and iOS devices. Continue reading for full details.
The update enables four-player online matches with full cross-play support through Feral's proprietary Calico matchmaking service. Whether your friends are on mobile or Switch, you can now compete together on the same battlefield.
This marks a significant enhancement for Nintendo Switch players in particular. While mobile users previously enjoyed cross-platform play, Switch owners can now join these battles for the first time. The Company of Heroes Collection is available via the Nintendo eShop.
Developed originally by Relic Entertainment, Company of Heroes stands as a landmark title in real-time strategy gaming. Its gripping World War II campaigns and innovative squad-based combat mechanics have earned it widespread acclaim.
The game transports players to the European Theater of Operations, beginning with the D-Day invasion of Normandy and progressing through to the climactic battles at the Falaise Pocket. Players can choose between Allied forces (US Army and British 2nd Army) or Axis powers (German Wehrmacht and Panzer Elite).
Android users can download the base game through Google Play, with Opposing Fronts and Tales of Valor expansions available as in-app purchases. These expansions are required for full multiplayer access, providing parity in maps and units across all platforms.
With this Switch update broadening accessibility, there's never been a better time to experience this RTS classic. Don't miss our upcoming coverage of Goddess of Victory: Nikke's seasonal summer update either.
