Disney has announced that Conan O'Brien will join the cast of *Toy Story 5*, lending his voice to a new character named Smarty Pants. The redheaded chat show host shared his involvement via his official TeamCoco Instagram account through a humorous skit where he playfully suggests he wanted to voice either Woody or Buzz Lightyear. Fortunately, Tom Hanks and Tim Allen will reprise their iconic roles as Woody and Buzz.

While no additional details about Smarty Pants have been revealed, fans are buzzing with speculation about this mysterious character. Could Smarty Pants be an electronic toy, perhaps even an antagonist to our beloved toy heroes? Only time will tell.

*Toy Story 5* promises to bring Woody, Buzz, and the entire Pixar gang back together for a new adventure. This time, they'll navigate a world where children are increasingly drawn to gadgets and technology. O'Brien's casting as Smarty Pants suggests that this new character will play a significant role in the upcoming film.

Following *Toy Story 4* in 2019, *Toy Story 5* marks the first major new installment in Pixar's cherished series. While the 2022 spin-off *Lightyear* focused on Buzz Lightyear's in-universe story, it was considered a disappointment. Now, Disney aims to revitalize the main *Toy Story* franchise, despite the challenge of following the critically acclaimed original trilogy.

*Toy Story 5* is slated for release on June 19, 2026. It will be the first of several upcoming sequels to classic Pixar films, with *Incredibles 3* and *Coco 2* also in the works.
