Paradox Interactive has revealed initial details about their upcoming Crusader Kings 3 expansion, centered around nomadic rulers. This DLC introduces a novel governance system specifically designed for nomadic peoples, featuring a unique currency: "herd." The size of the ruler's herd directly impacts their authority, influencing military strength, cavalry unit composition, relationships with vassals, and other core gameplay mechanics.
