Cyberpunk 2077 enthusiasts were once thrilled at the prospect of an ambitious DLC that would take them to space, specifically the Moon. However, this exciting project was ultimately shelved. Blogger and dataminer SirMZK has meticulously compiled leaks and files from the game’s code, offering a glimpse into CD Projekt RED’s grand vision for this cosmic expansion.

Within the game's files, there are references to lunar surface maps, structured zones such as an Exterior Movie Set and a Drug Lab, and even a model of a rover. The Moon location was envisioned to be expansive, potentially encompassing a quarter of the size of Night City, with an open-world design. This would have provided players with a thrilling new dimension, far beyond the familiar neon-lit streets of the game.

A highlight of the proposed DLC was the Crystal Palace, an elite space station. Though it didn't make it into the final game, players can catch a fleeting glimpse of the Crystal Palace in one of the endings, as V gazes out of a spaceship window. Moreover, files reveal a prototype for a zero-gravity bar, linked to a cut quest named "201," which was connected to the Arasaka storyline.

Fans remain hopeful that some of these concepts might find their way into CD Projekt RED’s upcoming project, Orion, which aims to further expand the Cyberpunk universe. However, there has been no official confirmation from the studio about reusing these ideas.
