The much-anticipated Days Gone Remastered is on the horizon, and Sony's Bend Studio has recently shared a wealth of details about the enhanced accessibility features that will be included in this updated version. One standout feature is the ability to adjust the Game Speed, which can be slowed down to 75%, 50%, or even 25% of normal speed. This innovative option is designed to help players manage the intense pressure of the game's notorious Freaker hordes, as explained by Kevin McAllister, Creative & Product Lead at Bend Studio, in a recent PlayStation Blog post. "Game Speed is ideal for players who might feel overwhelmed in certain situations or have difficulty with various inputs in high-pressure moments, specifically fighting off hordes of Freakers," McAllister stated. This feature is particularly timely with the introduction of the new Horde Assault mode in the remaster, aiming to make this thrilling aspect of Days Gone more accessible to all players.

Beyond Game Speed, Days Gone Remastered will offer a variety of other accessibility enhancements. These include customizable subtitle colors, a High Contrast Mode, UI Narration, and Collectible Audio Cues. Additionally, the auto-complete QTE option, which was previously restricted to Easy difficulty, will now be available across all difficulty levels, from Easy to Survival II. These options reflect Bend Studio's commitment to inclusivity, ensuring that more players can enjoy the post-apocalyptic world of Days Gone.

Bend Studio also confirmed that most of these new accessibility features will be implemented in the PC version of Days Gone. However, certain features like feedback and customization control options will require a compatible controller to fully utilize.

Days Gone Remastered was officially announced in February, promising not only these accessibility improvements but also an enhanced photo mode, permadeath, and speedrun options. The remaster, which revisits the 2019 biker-centric, post-apocalyptic zombie action-adventure, is set to launch on April 25, 2025. Fans who already own the PS4 version can upgrade to the PS5 remastered edition for just $10, making it an accessible upgrade for existing players.
