During the DIGIMON CON 2025 event, Bandai Namco unveiled their latest project, Digimon Alysion, a new mobile trading card game (TCG) that aims to capture the excitement of the Digimon universe on mobile devices. This announcement comes as a response to the growing popularity of mobile TCGs like Pokémon TCG Pocket and Marvel Snap, signaling Bandai's intent to broaden the Digimon TCG's audience through mobile gaming.
Digimon Alysion is designed as a free-to-play digital TCG, allowing players to collect cards featuring various Digimon and characters from the franchise, build their decks, and engage in battles with other players. What sets Digimon Alysion apart is its inclusion of an in-depth story mode, offering players more than just the standard competitive gameplay experience.
The announcement was accompanied by a new trailer that provided glimpses of the gameplay and introduced an all-female cast speculated to be part of the story mode. New characters such as Kanata Hondo, Futre, and Valner Dragnogh were introduced, along with a new Digimon called Gemmon. While no specific release date was announced, Bandai mentioned an upcoming closed beta test, with further details to be released soon.

In addition to Digimon Alysion, DIGIMON CON 2025 also shed light on Digimon Story: Time Stranger. Producer Ryosuke Hara discussed the game's history, main characters, and the unique abilities of some featured Digimon. He confirmed that players can choose from three starter Digimon at the game's outset: Patamon, Gomamon, and DemiDevimon, all beloved characters from the original Digimon Adventure anime.

Hara also revealed that Time Stranger will boast a roster of over 450 Digimon, including Angewomon, Gallantmon, and the fan-favorite Agumon, surpassing the total number of Digimon in its predecessor, Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth - Hacker’s Memory, which had 330. The game will feature a narrative centered around time travel, with players choosing between two protagonists, Dan Yuki and Kanan Yuki, who are secret agents for ADAMAS, an organization focused on uncovering threats to humans and Digimon. The main heroine, Inori Misono, and her partner Aegiomon, will join players on their adventure through time.

The event also highlighted other exciting developments within the Digimon franchise, including the 25th Anniversary PV for the Digimon Anime, new starter decks and booster packs for the Digimon Trading Card Game, and a new anime series, Digimon Beatbreak, set to premiere in October 2025. With these announcements, the Digimon franchise is poised for a vibrant future, and fans should keep an eye out for more updates throughout the year.
