Hearthstone Unveils New Adventures in The Lost City of Un’Goro Expansion

Hearthstone revisits the Un’Goro Crater with its upcoming expansion, The Lost City of Un’Goro, set to launch on July 8th. This release reimagines the 2017 Un’Goro setting with a fresh narrative and enhanced gameplay.

What’s New in Hearthstone’s The Lost City of Un’Goro?

This expansion introduces 145 new cards, a unique keyword, and familiar mechanics. It also weaves a new tale of exploration into the enigmatic lost city.

In The Lost City of Un’Goro, players follow Loh, a Tortollan adventurer, as he guides a team into the hidden city. Elise Starseeker navigates the journey, while Umbra, a former Tortollan leader, acts as the guide with her own hidden agenda, revealed as the story unfolds.

The expansion brings a new keyword to Hearthstone: Kindred. Cards with Kindred gain a bonus effect if a card of the same minion type or spell school was played on the previous turn. This mechanic relies on strategic sequencing from the prior turn, not the current one.

Quest cards make a comeback as 1-cost Legendary spells that appear in your starting hand. Each class receives a unique Quest, offering a powerful reward upon fulfilling its conditions.

More Features to Explore

The expansion includes seven Story cards inspired by the original Un’Goro set, letting players relive past expeditions with references to iconic events and characters.

Six new Map cards add strategic depth. Playing a Map card lets you choose one of three card options. If you play the selected card in the same turn, you gain one of the other two options; otherwise, you keep only the first.
