While Nintendo has introduced a new $79.99 price tier for select Switch 2 titles (like Mario Kart World) and enhanced original Switch games (such as Super Mario Party Jamboree), Donkey Kong Bananza maintains the $69.99 MSRP. This represents a $10 increase from most original Switch games, but falls short of the higher premium tier.
This marks the first original 3D Donkey Kong adventure since 1999's Donkey Kong 64. The gameplay revolves around a core digging mechanic that lets DK tunnel through terrain by pounding and smashing. The trailer reveals numerous hidden treasures and secrets buried beneath surfaces.
While underground exploration features prominently, players will journey through diverse biomes including lush forests, dramatic canyons, tropical lagoons, and icy tundras. True to series tradition, the game includes classic side-scrolling sequences and thrilling mine cart racing segments. For more impressions, check our hands-on Donkey Kong Bananza preview.
