Don't Starve Mobile Release Still Planned, Not on Netflix

Don't Starve Together's Mobile Debut: No Netflix, But Coming to iOS and Android

Following a period of silence since the June 2024 announcement of Don't Starve Together's arrival on Netflix Games, we have an update. The game will not be coming to Netflix, but the good news is that it's still launching on mobile devices.

Playdigious and Klei Entertainment are collaborating to bring the Tim Burton-esque survival experience to iOS and Android. The game, where players must gather resources and survive as quirky characters on a hostile island, will have a global release on Google Play and the iOS App Store. While a precise release date remains unannounced, both developers confirm it's forthcoming.

Netflix Exclusivity Falls Through

It appears Don't Starve Together's Netflix exclusivity agreement has ended. While a global mobile launch is positive, this, alongside the cancellation of other indie exclusives like Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon, raises questions about Netflix Games' future commitment to indie titles.

The cancellation of Don't Starve Together, a highly influential survival game, is particularly noteworthy. This raises concerns about the prospects of other indie games on the platform. Netflix's indie game selection has been a significant draw, and this shift is disappointing.
