"Dune: Awakening Delay Extended by Three Weeks for Beta-Inspired Changes"

Fans eagerly awaiting Dune: Awakening, the highly anticipated open-world survival MMO inspired by Frank Herbert's iconic sci-fi universe and Denis Villeneuve's cinematic adaptations, will have to wait a bit longer. The game's release has been pushed back to June 10, 2025. However, those eager to dive into the sands of Arrakis early can do so starting June 5 by purchasing the Deluxe Edition or Ultimate Edition.

Funcom, the game's developer, announced the delay on their official X account, stating that the additional time will allow the team to refine the game based on feedback from its Persistent Closed Beta. "A bit more time to cook" is what they need, according to the announcement, to implement requested changes and enhance the overall gaming experience.

The delay also paves the way for a "large-scale beta weekend next month," offering more players a chance to experience Dune: Awakening and provide their valuable feedback.

While the delay might disappoint some fans, Funcom is keeping the excitement alive with a combat livestream scheduled for today at 12pm ET/9am PT. This event promises to reveal more details about the game's PvP and PvE mechanics, archetypes, and skills.
