Dungeonborne Set to Close Down, Official Statement

The team behind the PvPvE action game Dungeonborne, which drew inspiration from the well-known Dark and Darker, has recently announced the termination of support for their game and the impending closure of its servers. Launched with much anticipation, the game unfortunately did not manage to sustain its player base over its less-than-a-year lifespan, primarily due to dwindling player engagement and the absence of significant content updates.

While Dungeonborne's page on Steam remains accessible, it has vanished from the platform's search results and can now only be accessed via a direct link. Although the developers have not officially disclosed the reasons behind the decision to shut down, it's evident that the game's critically low player numbers were a major factor. From late 2024 onwards, the game struggled to maintain more than 200 concurrent players, with the last few days seeing a sharp decline to merely 10-15 active players at any given time.

The servers for Dungeonborne are set to go offline permanently on May 28, effectively closing the chapter on this project's journey. What started as a promising venture for fans of the genre will now quietly slip into obscurity, never fully achieving the potential it once promised.
