If you're a fan of Hellraiser and appreciate ironic names, you'll be pleased to learn that Warhammer 40,000: Warpforge has introduced the Emperor's Children as its newest faction. Featuring three new Warlords and a range of new mechanics, this Slaanesh-aligned group lets you unleash suffering on the battlefield.
Originally a loyalist Space Marine legion, the Emperor's Children broke away from the Imperium during the Horus Heresy. Now devoted only to the chaos god Slaanesh and their own desires, they've fractured into independent warbands that scour the galaxy in search of new thrills and sensations.
Reflecting their diversity, three new warlords are available. Lord Kaphrael specializes in eliminating enemy champions and commands the Callous Blades. Xarahan personifies the Emperor's Children's arrogance and self-obsession. Then there's Lucius the Eternal, the infamous immortal swordsman whose skills have been honed over thousands of years.
I can see you're trembling with anticipationThe Emperor's Children introduce unsettling mechanics that affect their units. Cards with Ecstasy activate an effect when their health drops to a specific level, while those with Cruelty gain an effect if you injure but don't destroy an enemy unit. Stimulation triggers an ability when the unit is targeted by stratagems. Combat Elixirs enable certain cards to generate extra stratagems, activating their special abilities.
Be on the lookout—the Emperor's Children are now available in new booster packs and DLC, giving you the tools to torment opponents with their unique abilities and units.
