Exclusive: Far Cry 7 Unveiled: Rumors Suggest New Locations, Story Arc

Ubisoft remains tight-lipped about Far Cry 7, but a recent casting call leak hints at the next chapter's plot. Reddit users report the story will center on a fierce power struggle within the affluent Bennett family, mirroring the HBO hit, Succession.

Leaked character names include Layla, Dax, Bry, Christian, Henry, and Christa Bennett. The antagonist, Ian Duncan, a conspiracy theorist with a strong following, is poised to be a compelling villain, his resentment of the elite driving his ambitions. John McKay and Dr. Safna Kazan are also mentioned, potentially as significant supporting characters.

The most surprising detail is the speculated setting: New England. This would mark a first for the Far Cry franchise. While unconfirmed by Ubisoft, and subject to change during development, the New England setting is reportedly explicitly mentioned in casting documents. This region, encompassing six states including Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts, offers a unique and potentially thrilling environment for the game's signature brand of mayhem.

Adding to the speculation, industry insider Tom Henderson previously hinted at a possible two-part release for Far Cry 7, both anticipated in 2026.
