Upgrading Your Arsenal: A Step-by-Step Guide

Weapon upgrades enhance base stats and allow for module additions. Early game access to upgrades means less reliance on mission rewards.

To begin upgrading, progress through the main story to reach Level 002 Code Clearance. This unlocks the Facility Management Function (accessible via the Personal Responsibility Portal). Within the Weapon Development Facility, you can manage and upgrade your weapons using resources and Entitlement Points. Enlisting a Citizen can significantly reduce upgrade costs, with each Citizen offering varying reduction rates based on their aptitude.

Before confirming an upgrade, review the resulting stat changes. The Weapon Development Facility also facilitates element addition and module experimentation. To reach higher weapon Grades, acquire the necessary permits from the Claim Entitlement tab in the Window of Liberty.

The Importance of Weapon Upgrades

Early game missions rarely yield high-Grade weapons. While Zakka in The Warren sells weapons, these are primarily Grade 1, highlighting the necessity of upgrading. A CODE 3 Exam requires higher Grade Development Facility Permits, incentivizing weapon upgrades. Upgrading allows you to focus on a single weapon, donating lower-grade finds for reduced sentences and extra Entitlement Points.

The first weapon upgrade unlocks the "In Search of the Strongest Weapon" trophy/achievement, with further achievements tied to the upgrade system.
