In Freedom Wars Remastered, every action you take contributes to reducing your staggering one million-year prison sentence, which you're serving simply for being born. As you work to shorten this sentence, you're also striving to elevate your CODE level, which significantly enhances your life as a sinner.
Your CODE level unlocks various Entitlements, making the game more manageable. These can include abilities like extended running or upgrades for your comrades and gear, making battles against Abductors much easier. You'll progress through multiple CODE levels; let's explore how many there are.
In Freedom Wars Remastered, players can progress through a total of eight CODE levels. Once you've upgraded your CODE level, there's no going back, so you don't have to worry about accidentally increasing your prison sentence beyond the necessary level, especially in Deadly Sinner Mode. Each time you advance your CODE level, you'll unlock more Entitlements to purchase and gain access to additional operations to complete.
To increase your CODE level, you can consult your Accessory in your cell and select "Check CODE Upgrade Conditions". Typically, you'll need to reach certain milestones in your prison sentence and unlock specific Entitlements. It's wise to check this menu regularly from your cell to ensure you're not wasting Entitlement Points on less essential upgrades, as you might need to donate resources to acquire more points.
Donating just one high-end resource or weapon can often provide enough points for numerous Entitlements.
While meeting all the conditions listed is necessary to elevate your CODE level, your current level is also intricately linked to the main storyline. Completing main story missions and operations, in addition to fulfilling these conditions, is required to pass the CODE exam, which is integrated into the story. Sometimes, the main story missions serve as a substitute for the CODE exam needed to reach the next level.
Operations are categorized by CODE levels, serving as a general difficulty indicator. Most operations will be completed as you advance through the story of each CODE level. However, optional operations may become available after you've progressed, providing additional support for players who might not feel fully prepared for the challenges of their new CODE level.
