"God of War Ragnarok 20th Anniversary Update: Dark Odyssey Collection Patch Notes Revealed"

The God of War Ragnarök update version 06.02 patch notes have been released to celebrate the franchise's 20th anniversary, bringing with them the exciting Dark Odyssey Collection. Santa Monica Studio has detailed everything that's included in this celebratory update, which features new Dark Odyssey cosmetics for Kratos, Atreus, and Freya, as well as an updated appearance for all of God of War's iconic weaponry. This comprehensive bundle of content is now available to all players at no additional cost.

Alongside the Norse-themed additions in this latest update, players can now utilize a special "Edit Appearance" feature. This new option allows you to customize the looks of Kratos, Atreus, and Freya's gear without affecting the armor's inherent abilities and skills. Whether you're experiencing Kratos' battles against Thor and Odin for the first time or returning for another playthrough, this is the perfect opportunity to dive back into the sequel, available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.

While the Dark Odyssey Collection adds a wealth of cosmetic options to Kratos' arsenal, some fans were hoping for more substantial celebrations for the franchise's 20th anniversary. When the update was initially announced, there were calls for modern remasters of classics like God of War, God of War 2, and God of War 3. However, Santa Monica Studio has not announced any plans for such reimaginings at this time.

Despite the absence of remasters, Sony continues to engage God of War fans with other exciting bonuses, including new merchandise and vinyl releases. As you download the God of War Ragnarök 20th Anniversary Update, take a moment to read about why we believe the series needs to reinvent itself for its next installment.
