According to Rockstar, the GTA 6 Trailer 2 has become the most-viewed video launch in history.
The company informed The Hollywood Reporter that the second trailer amassed 475 million views across all platforms within its first 24 hours. This surpasses the debut of every major movie trailer, including Deadpool & Wolverine (365 million views), The Fantastic Four: First Steps (200 million), and last year's Superman trailer, which set a record for DC and Warner Bros with over 250 million views. GTA 6 Trailer 2 has outperformed them all.
It is worth mentioning that the first GTA 6 trailer, which was initially released exclusively on YouTube, garnered 93 million views in its first day, making it the platform's biggest non-music video launch ever. As of this article's publication on May 8, Trailer 2 has reached 85,276,196 views on Rockstar's official YouTube channel.
IGN previously reported that the use of The Pointer Sisters’ Hot Together in GTA 6 Trailer 2 triggered a massive surge in the song’s Spotify streams. In just the two hours following the trailer's release, global Spotify plays for the 1986 track increased by a staggering 182,000%.
“Grand Theft Auto resonates with popular culture like few other franchises,” said Sulinna Ong, Spotify’s Global Head of Editorial. “Music has always been integral to the series, so it's exciting to see both new and longtime fans connecting with such an iconic song.”
The release of GTA 6 Trailer 2 followed news that the game's launch was pushed from fall 2025 to May 26, 2026. It is anticipated to be the largest entertainment launch ever, breaking revenue records not only in gaming but also in film.
