As announced in their recent Twitter (X) post, Hades 2 has been in early access since May 6, 2024, and is now celebrating its first anniversary. Supergiant Games expressed their gratitude to fans for their support and highlighted their progress towards the game's full release.

Their post states, "It's been incredibly exciting and eye-opening as we've worked to realize the potential so many of you see in our game. Thank you for all your feedback and patience as we get closer to the finish line!"

The original Hades also followed a similar path, spending 22 months in early access before its full release. However, Supergiant aims to bring Hades 2 to full release more swiftly, starting with a time-exclusive launch on the Nintendo Switch 2.

Launching First on the Nintendo Switch 2

In a recent episode of Nintendo’s Creator’s Voice video series, Supergiant Games confirmed that Hades 2 will debut on the Nintendo Switch 2. With the Switch 2 set to launch on June 5, fans can anticipate Hades 2's release around that time.

Hades 2 stands out as the sequel to the beloved rogue-like game, Hades. Supergiant Games noted that this is their first venture into creating a sequel, describing the process as one that requires "a great deal of fear and respect."
