Hades 2: Timed Exclusive for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2

Hades 2 is set to launch on Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 as a timed console exclusive. Developer Supergiant has confirmed that the highly anticipated sequel will be released simultaneously on PC, via Steam and the Epic Games Store, and both versions of the Nintendo Switch later this year, though an exact release date remains under wraps.

The announcement that Hades 2 would be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 was initially made during last week's Nintendo Direct. However, Supergiant Games has since clarified on X/Twitter that the game will not only be available on the Switch 2 but also on the original Nintendo Switch, marking it as a timed exclusive for Nintendo's consoles.

"Hades II v1.0 will launch simultaneously on our Early Access platforms (Steam and Epic Games Store), Nintendo Switch 2, and the original Nintendo Switch," the team stated, ensuring fans on all these platforms can dive into the game at the same time.

While the timeline for Hades 2's release on other consoles, such as the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S, is yet to be announced, anticipation continues to build for this sequel.

Hades 2 follows up on the success of Supergiant's original game, blending captivating storytelling with roguelite action and dungeon-crawling gameplay. IGN's Hades 2 early-access review awarded the game a stellar 9/10, praising its expansive world and refined mechanics. "Hades 2 feels impossibly huge and unbelievably polished by any standard, much less an early access game," the review noted. "Mel is awesome, the new tweaks to the combat and progression are excellent, and it's just unbelievably feature packed with twice the content of the first. What’s here right out of the gate is astounding, and the thought of more coming on the way is a tantalizing treat."
