While Season 10 of Battlegrounds has introduced thrilling new chaos to Hearthstone's tavern brawls, the game is set to revisit a beloved location next. The Lost City of Un'Goro, Hearthstone's upcoming expansion, arrives on July 8th with 145 new cards, blending innovative mechanics, fan-favorite returning features, and a compelling story set deep within the prehistoric Un'Goro Crater.

Veteran players may recall the name. Hearthstone first ventured into Un'Goro in 2017, but this new expansion takes a different route. You'll join Loh, a Tortollan explorer, as he spearheads an expedition into the long-concealed city, completely unaware that his guide, Umbra, has secret motives. Elise Starseeker also joins the adventure, forming a party of familiar characters who are holding more than a few surprises.

In terms of gameplay, the set introduces Kindred, a new keyword that emphasizes strategic synergy. If you played a minion of the same type or a spell from the same school on your previous turn, Kindred cards receive an extra benefit. Quest cards are also making a comeback, with each class receiving a new Legendary Quest that begins in your opening hand and grants a powerful reward upon completion.

New Story and Map cards help deepen the expansion’s adventurous theme. Story cards recount tales of past Un'Goro expeditions, while Map cards let you Discover a card—and if you play your chosen card immediately, you also get one of the other two options. It's all built around exploration, reward, and smart risk-taking.

Beyond the standard Pre-Purchase and Mega Bundle options, Blizzard is introducing a third Sequence Bundle, unlocked after purchasing the first two. The Mega Bundle includes 80 standard card packs, 10 golden packs, signature and golden Legendary cards, four Tavern Tickets, and exclusive Umbra cosmetics.

For players looking for something different, a major Arena redesign launches at the same time as the expansion. The revamped Arena now welcomes newcomers with skill-based matchmaking, while The Underground mode offers extended runs and greater rewards for experienced players ready for a challenge.
