The upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 version of Hogwarts Legacy promises to enhance your gaming experience with sharper visuals, faster loading times, and the innovative addition of mouse controls. An exciting comparisons teaser trailer showcases how the Switch 2 version allows for seamless transitions between areas, such as moving in and out of Hogsmeade, eliminating the need for loading screens that were present in the original game.
But the improvements don't stop there. Playing on the Nintendo Switch 2 also enhances the frame rate, textures, shadows, and even the color saturation of Hogwarts and its surroundings. You can witness these upgrades for yourself in the trailer below:
Regarding the new mouse controls, we're as intrigued as you are. While Warner Bros. hasn't elaborated yet, we speculate that this functionality might enhance the spell-casting experience in the game.
Similar to other games on the original Switch, players who own Hogwarts Legacy on the OG system can upgrade to the enhanced version on the Switch 2 for just $10.
Hogwarts Legacy is an immersive, action-packed, open-world role-playing game set in the wizarding world of the 1800s. As a fifth-year student, you'll embark on a journey through both new and familiar locations, explore and discover magical beasts, craft potions, master spell casting, upgrade talents, and customize your character to become the witch or wizard you've always dreamed of being. The game is set to launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 on the same day as the console's release, June 5.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Hogwarts Legacy, awarding it a 9/10 in the IGN Hogwart's Legacy review, where we stated: "in almost every way, Hogwarts Legacy is the Harry Potter RPG [we've] always wanted to play."
